Frequently Asked Questions
For the purposes of transparency, we have compiled a list of frequently asked questions below:
Does your app automatically share results to my Facebook page?
No, we strongly believe that the user should determine what results are shared to their page. We will never automatically share any of our results to your timeline. To share a result, you will have to manually click on the Share button and then post it to your page.
Does LolSided store my Facebook profile information?
This app does not collect Facebook user data and it does not keep a database of its users. All results are generated on-the-fly. Therefore, there is no need for the app to save user information for future use.
Do you pass my Facebook information on to third parties?
What about my email address? Are you storing that?
LolSided does not ask for your email address. Nor does our app ask for the required Facebook permission to view it.
If I remove your app, do I need to contact you and tell you to remove my information?
Although you should always feel free to contact us, there is no need to ask us to remove your information as we do not keep a database of user data.
OK, so why do you need my Facebook profile information?
Your Facebook profile information is used to provide personalized results that you can then share elsewhere. Example: We use the user's selected gender to determine what pronouns should be used and we often overlay a user's name and profile picture on top of their quiz results.
How are results determined? Does the app read my posts or something?
All results are completely random and are provided for fun and entertainment purposes only. This app does not attempt to figure out who you are or what kind of personality you have. There is no wizardry or artificial intelligence working away in the background - the results are just random. Other quiz apps may not admit to this, but we'd prefer to be up front and honest about it.
I didn't like the result that you gave me!
If you didn't like the result that the app gave you, you can always use the Try Again button. If you think that a particular result was tasteless or insulting, you can always contact us and let us know. Unfortunately, cultural differences and the like can sometimes lead to a situation where a user feels offended by their quiz result. This is completely unintended as all results are supposed to be light-hearted and fun.
My result is saying "he" instead of "she"?
Please make sure that you have selected your preferred gender on Facebook. If your gender information is set to private, the app may be forced to use words such as "they". In cases where the user's gender information has not made available to the app, it may use a default pronoun as a fallback option. Note that if you added a custom gender to your Facebook profile, our app may be forced to use a default pronoun.
Why do I need to login again? I'm already logged into my Facebook app!
This mostly happens in situations where the user is not logged into Facebook via their mobile browser.
Example: The user is logged into the Facebook app, but they are not logged into Facebook on Chrome or Safari.
Your app is not working for me!
Unfortunately, there are many reasons why the app could fail to generate quiz results. Although we do our very best to handle large spikes in user traffic, it can be challenging to do so and there may be periods of time when the app becomes slow or unresponsive. Fortunately, this does not happen often. In other cases, special characters in a user's name may not be supported by the font that is being by the quiz in question. If you think that there is a bug in one of our quizzes, feel free to contact us and let us know. Be sure to provide us information about what device and browser you are using so that we can properly debug the issue.
